Tonight was such a beautiful, cold, crisp, clear night. We got home from working on the house and I pulled John out of the truck and set him on the ground. He stopped in his tracks and looked up at the sky.
Me: Aren’t the stars beautiful?
Me: How far away do you think they are?
John: Dem pretty far. But I could get a ladder, like a big ladder and then I could reach dem.
I think a lot of kids have said similar things. But it just strikes me and makes me realize that kids really think they can reach the stars. Or do anything. There aren’t any barriers in their world. Well, except bedtime. Mean old mama!
