So my camera came home! Buuuuuut, I was expecting to use it on photos of green shoots and puddle jumping. Not snowpants and snowscapes!
Despite the turn to cold (which doesn’t look to be resolving anytime soon!) we still remain plentiful in eggs!
Our Mallard Duck started laying eggs, too! But with the turn to cooler weather, I wasn’t sure if they would still be viable for her to hatch. I know we didn’t have ducklings until Memorial Day last year (with a 30 or so day incubation period). So I snatched them out and used them in brownies last night and pancakes this morning!
The new house hasn’t changed in looks too much, but we’ve moved onto drywall! I can definitely see a renewed vigor in Eli when it comes to working on the house….he did a great job on the electrical but it certainly became tedious there at the end!
The kids are as interested and helpful as ever…..but the drywall being on the wall adds a bit more, um, tension? John’s pretty used to being able to stick staples in the ICF’s and hammer wherever he pleases. Of course the walls will get dinged up when we live there, but it would be nice to have a moment of perfection on the walls…….even if it only lasts as soon as the paint’s dry. There haven’t been any mishaps, but there is certainly an increased vigilance.
