Scapes! Scapes are the stem and flower seed head on the garlic plant. You pull them off so the plant can send it’s energy down into those yummy bulbs….and in the meantime, eat the scapes! They have a garlic flavor, but it’s delicious and mild. Tonight is sauteed scapes with shrimp over linguini. The next night I’m using them in place of green onions in a recipe. Later in the week: Homemade pizza with garlic scape pesto! Anyone else have suggestions for me??
