All around me the bed is bouncing and then someone jumps square on my back. I peek open one eye and the clock reads 6:59. Not great for a mama who stayed out til last call.
But they won’t stop and I can’t go back to sleep so after a half hour of
resting in bed torture, I get up. Eli comes home from hunting (and missing a deer!) and it’s waffles and maple syrup and coffee, but the cream is bad. Bah. Best to just get going.
We head up to the new house to attempt to finish up the bathroom.
The toilet has been placed. The shower walls are up. The tub is set, it just needs to be plumbed down through the floor. The vanity is coming along, although I only showed a teaser. That rehab project is a post in it’s own. So overall, the bathroom is juuuuust about there. Things (including Summer’s handwriting!) are improving by leaps and bounds!
With Eli hunting as often as possible these days, there is a lot of talk of deer.
And ducks. And let’s face it, whatever wildlife happens across the mind of a certain little boy. So Eli called a friend of a friend who has some captive deer. The kids laughed those special giggles that are reserved for true excitement….you know those ones I’m talking about!
Then it was time for lunch and then attempts at napping (for the kids, not me!) Then we had a little reciprocation of babysitting and Aunt Sara came to be with the kids. Eli went back out hunting (fill that freezer! fill that freezer!) and I got back to work up the hill!
I finished painting the kids room! It looks paler in the photo that in real life. It’s a true Sunshine Yellow!
The kitchen is also verrrrrrrrry close to being done! The backsplash has been grouted and the sealant has been put on. I regrouted a few spots on the floor and will seal the whole floor tomorrow. Pretty much all that’s left in the kitchen is to put in and plumb the sink faucet!
By then it was time to head home, get cleaned up and go over to Grandma Bug’s! Eli returned home with no deer (but no misses, either) and we were on our way.
Grandma Bug found a Lite Brite for the kids and they were so fascinated by it! I love seeing some of the toys from my childhood coming back around again.
We ate the best pizza in town (if this is your town, you know where it came from!) and then cake and ice cream to celebrate Uncle Todd’s birthday.
The kids fell asleep on the way home, tired from that whirlwind day we just went through. And now this mama is going to try to catch some of those winks I couldn’t get this morning! Good night all!
