march on in

Goodness, time is moving quickly around here! This post was meant for the beginning of March, or shortly thereafter!

Anyways, Spring is marching on in around here.  Even despite days where is goes from sunny to white out snow…because it’s gone again in the morning.  All sorts of newness is happening around here!

The rhubarb has started to peek it’s little rose colored head out…

The pigeons have begun hatching, beautiful as they are!

We are back to our normal ration of eggs…which may increase soon as the rest of the ladies follow suit after the clock change tonight! Hens naturally take the winter off from laying…they are driven to lay or not based on hours of light in the day. Eggs can be forced with artificial light, but we give our hens the winter off.

Our Ducky rooster is now on high alert….he knows his ladies are laying and that means it chicky time!

The garlic is pushing up….

…as are the tulips!
