This past weekend our Girl Scout group went on an amazing adventure to Cumming Nature Center!  When we first got inside, there were lots of Oooooooing and Ahhhhhhing over the beautiful taxidermy animals so well preserved.  Next we were ushered into a side room to see a great demonstration by the Wildlife Defenders.  We were able to meet some wonderful animal ambassadors and also some hard working members who gave us the presentations.

A baby joey in a sling:

A real porcupine!  Did you know that porcupines are born fully quilled and equipped to be on their own from the minute they’re born?  No breech birth for the porcupine!

Then it was time to head outside to the trails!

We were able to see the center creating syrup the old way (over a fire) and the new way (with an evaporator). And then everyone got a little shot of syrup! Yum!

And the part the girls looked forward to all day……..PANCAKES!!

It was a great day, and your post shared the beauty of it:)… We are blessed to have an amazing girl scout troop, and the staff at Cummings Nature Center were truly amazing. I can’t wait to go back with my future scouting troops and my boys.
