the glow

We are very lucky to have some great balloon festivals around here! The Labor Day balloon fest starts on Thursday with a balloon “glow”. It’s where the balloons are blown up on the local golf course at dusk for a beautiful display and up close viewing of these giants.
However. This year we showed up just a wee bit late. They were actually deflating the balloons as we got there. I was disappointed and so were the kids. I could feel myself being negative and at one point Summer even said, “I wish we would have gotten here sooner!” Sometimes I can feel that click in my mind, that thought of “You can save this moment!!” So I stayed positive and the kids followed suit. There was one balloon left standing, and it was a great one!!

This one was so great it had claws that touched the ground!

(Or almost touched the ground!)

We stayed extra long and watched the Purple People Eater go all the way to the ground.

And with a change of attitude, the night was saved.
